Susan Vega is Alivio Medical Center’s Programs Manager. In this role, she manages Alivio’s Chicago Family Case Management, Women, Infant and Children (WIC -supplemental nutrition program), Community Health Education and Promotion team, and the Pilsen Satellite Senior Center at Casa Maravilla. She coordinates volunteer and staff activities through the National Council on Aging’s Benefit Enrollment Center, Get Covered Illinois Certified Application Counselor program, and the Senior Health Insurance Program. Her team provides information and assistance to older adults and their families to help them understand, apply, and use available safety net programs at the Senior Center and at seven off-sites throughout Chicago’s southwest communities and suburbs. Ms. Vega has a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Xavier, in Chicago. In 2017, she received the prestigious Ohtli award from the Mexican Government, recognizing her outstanding contribution to advancement of Mexican communities abroad.
